IPS received raising capacity equipment

As part of the ongoing expansion program at the King Abdulaziz Port of Dammam - IPS Dammam Container Terminal, received 4 Rubber Tyred Gantry Cranes (RTGs), and 5 Terminal Tractors and trailers today (12th November 2011), increasing their yard equipment to : 19 RTGs, 35 Straddle Carriers and 90 Terminal Tractors.

IPS Join the 10,000 + TEU club- MV Cosco Kaohsuing arriving at IPS Dammam

On Friday 8th July 2011, the IPS terminal at the Port of Dammam, Saudi Arabia joined the prestigious 10,000 +TEU club by receiving the MV Cosco Kaohsuing. The MV COSCO is 348m long and has a capacity to hold 10,020 TEU (twenty foot equivalent containers ) 18 container across, beating the previous held by the MV Maersk Sovereign. COSCO in conjunction with OOCL are currently running six mainline vessels on the Middle East Express (MEX) service, directly from Shanghai- China to Dammam- Saudi Arabia. The weekly services current rotation starts from Shanghai calling at Ningbo, Hong Kong, Shekou,

Largest Vessel handled

With a 16m draft in the channel approach and 14m datum alongside in March 2009, IPS received The Maersk Sovereign (8900 TEU Capacity) the largest vessel to date handled by IPS setting a new record in the Upper Gulf.

The new mainline Far East Middle East Express (FMX) Service is operated by Hanjin, STX Pan Ocean and Sinokor and will link up with Hanjin's dedicated northern gulf feeder service (MV Hanjin Belawan) The HANJIN BERLIN (5302 TEU Capacity) arrived at Dammam on 19th of Feb 2011. The six-ship FMX service, in which Hanjin provides four 5300 vessels and STX Pan Ocean and Sinokor provide one each, has a rotation of Qingdao, Gwangyang, Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaohsiung, Yantian, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Dubai- Jebal Jebal Ali, Dammam, Bandar Abbas, Qingdao.

IPS Shareholders purchase majority shareholding in Dammam Bonded Zone (SDRS)

On Dec 22nd 2010 IPS Shareholders: Hutchison Port Holdings and MACNA purchased a majority stake holding in the Saudi Development Re-Export Services Ltd (Dammam Bonded Zone) creating an integrated Terminal – Logistics corridor at the Port of Dammam
